Bifold & Sliding Door Repairs in London

Bifolds are a wonderful thing when they run smoothly — and a nightmare when they don't. Jamming, dropping, whistling or leaking bifolds almost always come down to worn rollers, blocked tracks or hinges that need adjustment. We work on all major systems and can usually put them right without replacing the doors.

The number-one cause of a bifold that suddenly won't run is grit in the bottom track. We strip it back, clean it out properly, service the rollers and check the panel weight is sitting where it should. Where rollers are worn we fit sealed replacements that don't need constant lubrication.

For larger issues — a damaged sill, a bent track, or a stack that no longer closes flush — we can carry out targeted repairs on-site rather than replacing the whole door set. We work on Origin, Smart, Reynaers, Schueco, Liniar and other common London bifold systems.

How the repair works

  1. 1. Full run-through We open and close every panel, checking rollers, hinges, tracks, shootbolts and the traffic door.
  2. 2. Service & adjust Track cleaned, rollers replaced where needed, hinges re-shimmed, panels re-aligned.
  3. 3. Weather-test Panels closed, locked and tested against the seals — you should hear the click, not feel the draught.

Frequently asked questions

My bifold is dragging on the floor — is it broken?

Usually not. It's either worn rollers, a hinge that needs adjusting or grit in the track. All of these are on-site fixes and normally a fraction of the cost of a new door.

Do you repair sliding patio doors too?

Yes — sliding patio and inline sliding doors have the same core wear points (rollers, tracks, keeps) and we service them the same way.

Can you replace a single cracked pane in a bifold?

Yes. Individual bifold panels can be reglazed without removing the whole door — the sealed unit is beaded out and swapped, usually within a week of measuring.
